Lights On Warning Buzzer

Another question for ya all.

The buzzer to warn me when the lights are left on isnt working. Anyone know where abouts it is?

Its on the instrument cluster pcb, have fun :lol:

 

Seriously though, do your door switches and courtesy lights work as they should, as well as the instrument lights ie they come on when ign on and can only be dimmed when side/headlights are on?

Yep, all the interior lights work as they should, dash lights come on when I switch the exterior lights on, and they dim fine.

 

I take it it`s not an easy job then? :lol: It may get left as it is :)

I've done a little more investigating and I'm wrong as usual, there is a buzzer on i/c pcb but I don't know what its for, the buzzer for lights on is on the relay board but mines an early mk1 and in '98 they changed, but I can't find any reference to the lights on buzzer for any model anywhere. It may help but the relay i've got has a number 36 stamped on the top, its on the bottom row third from the left but there are 6 relay slots on that row whereas you'll have 5.

I get a nice long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep if ive left the lights on/handbrake on ( yes i have on the odd occasion not taken it fully off when pulling off ) /indicators on when stopped / or a door slightly open.

 

can be quite amuseing sometimes if you have low fuel/low washer fluid/low temp outside/leave a door open(or open a door when engine running )...coz i get beep after ruddy beep!!..so reassuring to know that i will be reminded by my own car when ive left something on...pity it cant tell me the right way to go!
